Thank you so much, guys...... I got started.
My /var/mail/prasad did not belong to the "mail" group.
I changed the group and it works now.

When I put some other mail address in my .forward file it is getting
forwarded.
So I assume my MDA is using .forward file.

Obviously from this your MDA is reading .forward.

procmail: Couldn't create "/var/spool/mail/prasad"
procmail: Suspicious rcfile "/export/home/prasad/.procmailrc"
Check the permissions on .procmailrc. procmail is paranoid. ls -la
.procmailrc should be something like:
-rw-r--r-- 1 miner miner 247 Aug 6 11:35 .procmailrc
(obviously the user/group/dts will be different).
procmail: Couldn't read "/export/home/prasad/.procmailrc"
This is because it can't trust your procmailrc.
procmail: Error while writing to "/var/spool/mail/prasad"
Is this actually your mail spool directory? Check $MAIL. On our Solaris
machine it is /usr/mail/xxx.
