Thanks for the reply.

Like I said, two examples. Unrelated. Sorry if I didn't make this clear.

That's what ^TO_ expands to. Assuming the recipe you posted is the only
one looking for an inverted match on the address (and was apparently in
spamtrap.rc), this would be your hit. Good so far.
Good except that nothing ever shows up in the spam file that
spamtrap.rc specifies. It always shows up in INBOX which is
/var/spool/mail/holtzm. Also, as I said, after searching forward and
backwards, I couldn't find what message this particular entry referred to.

And this says it was stored successfully. Presuming these lines
immediatley follow the regexp entry above, what's the problem?
The regexp entry is unrelated. As I said, two examples. Again, sorry if I
wasn't clear. The problem is that the spamtrap.rc filter evidently didn't
match on the message even though it didn't have my email address anywhere
in it.
Nothing at all. All spam messages show up in INBOX.
Well, from the logfile entry above, SOMETHING was caught and stored in the
folder. Are you saying THIS *EXACT* message also appeared in the inbox?
Not also. Only in the inbox.
This may sound like a dumb question, but are you copying messages somewhere
along in your procmailrc?
Not that I can find.
You asked for it:
Return-Path: <atbs18a(_at_)greatmeat(_dot_)nx>
[snip]
Uh, isn't this the message that was _filed_ as per the above logfile entry?
Yes, after the spamtrap.rc filter failed to ctch it.
The spam filter is last in my .procmailrc file
Uh, you'd better rethink that scheme - sure, this particular rule makes
sense to have after mailing lists (where you're actually BCC'd as well),
but by and large, spam should be one of the first things you filter for.
I some times get messages meant for me from sources that don't use my
email address in the header. I don't want these diverted as spam, not that
they are now :-(.
