One word:
par
Well that looks like a good solution from what I can tell, but I can't
seem to get it to un/reformat the text that I referred to.
I tried an example out of the man page:
bash$ cat TEMP
From: Timothy Luoma <elists(_at_)1stpc(_dot_)org>
I get a lot of replies that have quoted text like this:
here is a long line of text here and there there will be
one
word that is not quoted like all of the rest and then there will
be
. . . .
bash$ par 59 < TEMP
From: Timothy Luoma <elists(_at_)1stpc(_dot_)org>
I get a lot of replies that have quoted text like this:
here is a long line of text here and there there will
be one > word that is not quoted like all of the rest and
then there will be . . . .
which is still better than fmt but not what I was looking for
bash$ fmt < TEMP
From: Timothy Luoma <elists(_at_)1stpc(_dot_)org>
I get a lot of replies that have quoted text like this: > > > > here
is a long line of text here and there there will be > one > > word that
is not quoted like all of the rest and then there will > be > . . . .
