The only problem is that when the mail files are delivered (in this case
to user andy) they are created with ownership root:mail .
Is that the user:group as which sendmail is running?
I am assuming that it's something to do with Procmail as that is the
program creating these files. I can't see any mention in the
documentation about how to specify a user to create the files as.
More likely something to with sendmail, I think. How is sendmail
invoking procmail?
Is it using the -d flag, which sets the recipient to be used in explicit
delivery mode. For example, /etc/sendmail.cf on a machine I have to
hand has this:
Mlocal, P=/usr/bin/procmail, F=lsDFMAw5:/|@qSPfhn9, S=10/30, R=20/40,
T=DNS/RFC822/X-Unix,
A=procmail -Y -a $h -d $u
Does yours have something similar?
Regards,
Martin
