hi everyone..
i have a setup and am looking for a working solution, was wondering if anyone
has any suggestions (well working suggestions.. what i've been trying hasn't
been working).
i have a linux box with postfix, procmail and fetchmail installed. it pulls
down email for a domain from a pop server elsewhere from a single mail account.
it's actually a catch-all account though and will get any mail addressed to
this domain. fetchmail (set up to run as a daemon started by root) retreives it
just fine.
my problem has been getting postfix & procmail to separate the messages (by the
to address) and write them out to various /var/spool/mail/<user id> mbox format
files. i've been trying to set this up under root so it would have privledges
to write to anyone's mbox. but no matter where i put it, procmail seems to
ignore root's .procmailrc file (maybe this is a "feature"? i can't find any
docs mentioning this).
i can't be the only person to try this. does anyone have a working solution or
a better idea for my plan?
thanks!
