I asked on the Bbedit list without getting help. Any Mac users out there
who can help me figure out how to save and upload the file to FreeBSD

I have Interarchy as an FTP program for direct to root uploads.
Thanks

I'm using OS X on my desktops. I use BBEdit regularly. Set the prefs to
always save as Unix. "Preferences", "Text Files: Saving", set "Default
Line Breaks" to Unix.

I use Transmit for my GUI FTP client. It's shareware. Recently I've
gotten tired of it quiting after 10 minutes because I haven't registered
so I started just SCPing the files to my hosts (passwordless makes it
faster). I don't use BBEdit on my procmailrc files but I do use it
heavily for my MRTG and Nagios config files. I also use it when writing
lengthy shell or perl scripts. One thing I've noticed is that when I
overwrite my local file (desktop) with the remote file (server), BBEdit
assumes the new local file has Macintosh linebreaks. I know version 6 did
this. I upgraded to 7 recently and haven't taken the time to check it
out. If you have the toolbar enabled, one of the drop-down menus gives
you quick access to the linebreak style. Otherwise you have to do a Save
As and use the "Options" button to change the linebreaks.

Good luck

Justin
