hi all -
i've just downloaded and installed procmail v3.22 and SpamAssassin v2.52
to try out for myself with the view of installing system-wide.
on my HP Tru64 v5.1 machine everything compiled OK and has been installed
in my home directory. with the 'standard' ~/.procmailrc and ~/.forward
everything seems to be working fine but the 'To:' field on all incoming
messages is getting rewritten without the host/domain name, i.e. incoming
mail to me should appear as
To: jrd(_at_)star(_dot_)ucl(_dot_)ac(_dot_)uk
or To: John Deacon <jrd(_at_)star(_dot_)ucl(_dot_)ac(_dot_)uk>
but instead i get
To: jrd
or To: John Deacon <jrd>
and a message sent to multiple recipients, such as
To: jrd(_at_)star(_dot_)ucl(_dot_)ac(_dot_)uk,
user(_at_)some(_dot_)where(_dot_)else, user2(_at_)else(_dot_)where
appears as
To: jrd, user, user2
i thought this was a SpamAssassin problem but now it appears to be
something to do with procmail - my current ~/.forward is now
"|/home/jrd/bin/procmail"
and ~./procmailrc is
:0fw: spamassassin.lock
| /sbin/cat
so email should just go straight through procmail and it should do nothing
with it... (right ?). but the problem's still there...
Anybody know what i'm doing wrong here ?
thanks,
john
