Sorry, thought this one went without saying. I would expect that you got a
piece of spam to the postfix user, and because it doesn't have the same
'default' mailbox or directory as a regular user, this might be the cause
of the 'failure'.

Thanks for the reply.
I'd look at that, but the mail was from a local account, certainly not spam,
but a test, and it still is routing all messages to that
<postfix(_at_)atchisonkansas(_dot_)net>
