I've been hearing a lot about SPF recently, and how it's a way to detect email
with forged sender. Unfortunately, I'm a procmail newbie and I know even less
about how email works. I asked my ISP if they could implement SPF, and they
said they'd think about it. In the meantime, I'd like to be able to do as much
as I can.
I did a google search for procmailrc and spf, but I didn't find much, except
this paragraph:
There are some fairly compelling reasons to want to do this at the MTA
connect time, not as a post-processing step via procmail. For one thing, the
"From " at the connect time is believable because the IP address is known to
it.
Based on this, it looks like I'm barking up the wrong tree, but I want to hear
the opinion of the experts on this list first. Is there anything I can do
SPF-wise in my .procmailrc?
