This is a wild thought from somebody with no adminsitration experience,
but maybe the MTA could add a marker (which procmail can look for) that
it received a message from the MSA rather than getting it from the
smtpd. For example,
X-Accepted-From: inside
or
X-Accepted-From: outside
If an incoming message already has an X-Accepted-From: header,
clobber it with the new value. (I'm assuming that if employee 1
received an external message and is now redirecting it to employee 2, it
should be treated as an intramural delivery at this point.)
