How to generate "Message-ID:" header ?

2004-10-22 11:33:35
Hello again,

I am on 107 Mailinglist and on mny of them, the posters break
threads while not including "References:" in messages or do
not send "Message-ID:" headers.

Now, if there is ONLY a missing "References:" I can repair it
with 'mutt' easyly.

But a missing "Message-ID:" do not let me attach a singel
Message to a thread.

Now I like to check incoming messages for the "Message-ID:"
header and if it does not exist, I like to add one.

But HOW ?

I know, the "Message-ID:" header must be unique, but not,
how to generate it.

Editing the Broken Messge with

    Message-ID: <YYYYMMDDHHMMSS(_dot_)xxxx(_at_)xxxx(_dot_)xx>

does not realy help...

Thanks for your Help
Michelle
