It seems to me, you're using exim as mta, but have sendmail installed
also.
Exim replaces sendmail, /usr/sbin/sendmail should be a symlink to
to the exim executable, which is not the case as I can see from the
permissions and filesize.
Try the following:
mv /usr/sbin/sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail.backup
ln -s /usr/sbin/exim /usr/sbin/sendmail
^--- replace with path to exim
