where "message" is a saved copy of a message from that list.

Now look at the new log. If it's not too big, send it to the list.
Or send a URL to where it can be seen.

The $LOGFILE created using a message from farsitex list is:{{{

procmail: [2199] Tue Apr 19 21:38:21 2005
procmail: No match on
"^X-BeenThere:(_dot_)*farsitex-user(_at_)lists(_dot_)sourceforge(_dot_)net"

  Folder: /var/spool/mail/hossein
5488

Others have already answered that you didn't send just the farsitex
message there but apparently shunted your mailbox with more than
one message in it, the first one being the leading placeholder message
for your mail user agent; and that that exlains the result.
Without the -s flag to formail when sending a folder with multiple
messages, only the first message (the placeholder one, here) will
be considered. The rest will be acted on as if it is one long body
to the first message.

I also want to make sure, when you save just the one message from farsitex
to a file, that you save the *entire* message. Don't just use your
mail program to save a copy; it may strip out many of the headers when
it does so.

I had saved the message with my mailer PINE. But now that I am using
a text editor to save the message everyting works fine. And the content
of $LOGFILE is:{{{

procmail: [1802] Wed Apr 20 11:40:33 2005
procmail: Match on
"^X-BeenThere:(_dot_)*farsitex-user(_at_)lists(_dot_)sourceforge(_dot_)net"
procmail: Executing " echo "Mail received from: Ftex-user" >> $MSG_FILE"
procmail: Error while writing to " echo "Mail received from: Ftex-user" >>

procmail: Assigning "LASTFOLDER= echo "Mail received from: Ftex-user" >>

procmail: Locking "/dos/f/Lists/.NEW_Ftex-user.lock"
procmail: Lock failure on "/dos/f/Lists/.NEW_Ftex-user.lock"
procmail: Assigning "LASTFOLDER=/dos/f/Lists/.NEW_Ftex-user"
procmail: Opening "/dos/f/Lists/.NEW_Ftex-user"
procmail: Acquiring kernel-lock
procmail: Notified comsat: "hossein(_at_)0:/dos/f/Lists/.NEW_Ftex-user"

}}}

In fact the only difference between the messages saved with PINE and
the one saved with the text editor is that in the latter the following
lines are removed:{{{

From MAILER-DAEMON Tue Apr 19 07:48:50 2005
Date: 19 Apr 2005 07:48:50 +0430
From: Mail System Internal Data

Subject: DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA
X-IMAP: 1113880730 0000000000
Status: RO

This text is part of the internal format of your mail folder, and is not
a real message. It is created automatically by the mail system software.
If deleted, important folder data will be lost, and it will be re-created
with the data reset to initial values.
}}}

Is there anyway to do this in ~/.procmailrc?

Thanks,
Hossein
