this procmailrc case
Is it a central /etc/procmailrc or a user's ~/.procmailrc
(dot-procmailrc)?
Since this post was made, its been moved to /home/user/.procmailrc, the
LOGNAME line commented out, permissions fix in /var/spool/mail and it
appears to be working fairly well now. I have it adding a line to the
header to ident the changes I've made.
If the first, is there an early DROPPRIVS='yes' or is everything done
as root?
There is a DROPPRIVES=yes line.
LOGNAME = /var/log/procmail.log
ITYM:
LOGFILE = /var/log/procmail.log
Is that file updated? Try
It is being updated now, fairly verbosely since I have VERBOSE=yes in it
for now.
LOGFILE = "/var/log/procmail_$LOGNAME.log"
VERBOSE = 'yes'
LOGABSTRACT = 'all'
and check under what credentials procmail creates the new LOGFILE.
If I have further trouble, I'll try that. And I'll lurk for a while
cause I'm not cozy comfortable with this yet.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
