Best way of finding/formatting... sender & sender address?

Simple case scenario, From: header reads,

    From: "First Last" <first(_dot_)last(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)tld>

but sometimes it may be formatted slightly different, eg.

    From: "First(_at_)Last" <first(_dot_)last(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)tld>
    From: First Last <first(_dot_)last(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)tld>
    From: first(_dot_)last(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)tld
    From: first.last <>

... and any such variation as the sender chooses.  I am finding it 
difficult to construct a regex to match a sender string and an address 
string (or part of).

Any suggestions?
