I am trying to write a recipe that does this:
if (new message has In-Reply-To header with a Message-Id contained in
.irrelevant_threads)
append the Message-Id of the new message to .irrelevant_threads
save the new message only in $MAILDIR/irrelevant_list_threads
See also formail -D, there are examples in procmailex(5).
Please be really patient with me this time, I do need a bit of hand
holding on this one:
1) from the archived thread I linked in the original message, I got
the impression that formail -D would not work in this case, that's
why the OP of that thread went straight for grep -qFf. Am I wrong?
Where?
2) honestly, I don't see how the examples in that man page overcome
the limits discussed in that other thread. How would you do it?
Thanks so much in advance for any help.
Marco
