Please can you stop HIJACKING E-Mail-Threads?

I've actually done this before and got railed about it. But is sounds
like email clients should default to clearing those extra thread
headers
whenever a users modifies a subject line. Maybe a good suggestion for
Thunderbird...
There's only so much a client can do to fix user stupidity. And what
happens if I change the subject to Re: $MATCH (Was: Re: grepping on
TO_)? Then the References should be kept.
In most clients with a gui you can click (or rclick) on the list
address and chose "New message" or something.

Once upon a time, a woman was picking up firewood. She came upon a
poisonous snake frozen in the snow. She took the snake home and
nursed it back to health. One day the snake bit her on the cheek. As
she lay dying, she asked the snake, "Why have you done this to me?"
And the snake answered, "Look, bitch, you knew I was a snake."
