So, like, the other day Meng Weng Wong mumbled:
This trip, I managed to edit a new revision of the draft-02 which
includes the exec and exists mechanisms. Also, macro operations are
more fully specified. Please review. After a round of feedback I plan
to release it as draft-03.

So, I read it. (Woo.) Don't know that I understand it all, of course... :-)
Down in section 5, the "Applicability Statement", there are some
subsections like 5.1.1 that say:
5.1.1 Viruses and Worms
Some viruses forge an innocent third-party's email address when
they send mail. SPF-conformant MTAs may detect such viruses.
I think this may make the wrong point. In particular, it
is totally posible to detect the viruses without SPF today.
So why does SPF come into play here? Maybe I am way off base
here, but I think the real point is more like:
Some viruses forge an innocent third-party's email address when
they send mail. SPF-conformant MTAs may detect such fraudulent
mail addresses created by the viruses.
Thanks,
jdl
