Is it RFC yet?

2003-12-12 23:22:14
I'm not quite familiar with how something becomes RFC, but someone here probably knows. How long does it take for an internet draft to become an RFC? What is the ETA for the SPF draft to get an RFC number? Is there a chance it will not?

Also, when might the SPF RR type become officially part of DNS? Will we have to patch the DNS server or can the rr code number be added to a config file?

I've browsed the spf site and these don't seem to be answered. (Apologies if that's a frequently-answered question...)

Thanks
