Getting accurate mail volumes is A Very Hard Task.

You aren't going to get that info direct from the source of the
email.  Yahoo will not want to publish figures that say its mail
volume is dropping or it is even losing ground to Hotmail.  Spammers
will, of course, lie.


You can't get this information indirectly with any accuracy.
Senderbase.org currently says that my domain sends more email every
day than I have sent in total since 1995.  SpamCop's numbers are
better, but still off for lots of people.   Consider people living in
Korea.  There is a very good chance that the vast majority of mail
they receive from Korean mail servers is legitimate.  However, since
the legitimate mail volume between KR and the US is very low, many
people can safely assume that all email from KR is spam.
