Why not just resurrect source routing notation for the return-path when
forwarding mail:
MAIL FROM: <@pobox.com:bob(_at_)elsewhere(_dot_)com>
MAIL TO: <fred(_at_)target(_dot_)com>
A bounce generated by 'target.com' should then come back as:
MAIL FROM: <>
MAIL TO: <@pobox.com:bob(_at_)elsewhere(_dot_)com>
Or am I missing something?
