Hi,
Some time ago I "renamed" a box (more precise, I discontinued it and put another
one in place). I setup a CNAME pointing to the new name. So far so good.
I still receive mail from time to time and I think (not sure) the original name
is still used by some for other protocols as well.
I know, I can alter DNS, get rid of the CNAME etc. However, lazy as I am, is
there
another way to say this original name should _not_ send mail yet the new box
can?
I.e.:
oldname TXT "v=spf1 -all"
newname TXT "v=spf1 MX -all"
combined into one?
Oldname should not have a TXT record as it already has a CNAME record.
Am I missing something here or do I have to do the right thing and
setup A and MX in stead of CNAME ?
cheers,
Alex
