What kind of "sender verification" do you mean? Hopefully not
something broken like tying a sender domain to IP addresses.
If you actually want that: SPF provides the software necessary
to break SMTP.
It seems at least the leading folks behind sendmail have grown rather
negative about SPF. CLauss' portrayal of SPF, btw, is not really doing SPF
justice.
