Right, that's what SRS does, except without the database. :)
Except you can turn on the database if that's what you'd like.
It's ironic that if we had kept the deprecated source route format of the
return-path from RFC821, SPF would have worked without requiring SRS. Each
forwarder just added their @forward-domain to the beginning of the list and
we'd have everything we need at each hop.
