For what it is worth, I joined this mailing list 11 months ago. Back
then, SPF was *much* more like DMP. The Unified-SPF proposal is only
the latest in the evolution of SPF. Most changes since the SPF spec
was "frozen" back in December(?) have been pretty much backwards
compatible. Our success now limits our options.
