Re: Sub domains

Hi,

Interresting question. I think proponents would say something like 'if the
second would send spam the isp example.com would get a bad reputation, no
problem: a just switches isp'. In reality, if a has no choice, a is just doomed
or has to find another way to send his mail, using third-party services.

On the other hand, you might think about reputations for subdomains, but this
raises the same problem as with automatically selecting spf records of a
super-domain if the sub-domain has no spf records: where do boundaries of
resonsibility lay?

I know from earlier posts that some have said 'ok a.tld and b.tld send spam, so
I just reject everything from .tld', which is I think a similar case. I guess
these same people would have no problem with rejecting example.com if
b.example.com misbehaves and not a.example.com.

Another interresting question: my mx has a PTR of sonolo.xs4all.nl, and
xs4all.nl has a good reputation according to cloudmark. Does this automatically
mean sonolo.xs4all.nl has a good reputation? That'd be nice, since as a spammer
I could then just get the cheapest account possible at xs4all, and start
sending spam that will bypass spam-filters since *.xs4all.nl is listed as
having a good reputation and does not need to be filtered any further..

If I had 2 or more sub-domains "a.example.com" and "b.example.com". If the
first were to be nice and never send spam, but the second were to spam all
the time, how would the accreditation and rating services handle this?

Thanks,
Guy
