James,

With this policy delegation mechanism, a simple greylist policy can be
implemented with only a dozen lines of Perl, as is shown at the end of this
document. Another example of policy delegation is the SPF policy server by
Meng
Wong at http://spf.pobox.com/. Examples of both policies can be found in
the
Postfix source code, in the directory examples/smtpd-policy.

What is the reason to make a patch for something that works fine ???

Do I really need to answer that question?

If you don't like a McDonald's hamburger you could try Wendy's, and if
you didn't like that, there is always Burger King, and of course lets
not forget Arby's or Dairy Queen. When choosing an MTA I have an
equally extensive selection at my disposal.

The likeness doesn't stop there however although "just because" is
honestly enough reason to do so. The fact of the matter is that in my
experience its faster, and in addition to this, I've had multiple
parties request a patch directly against the Postfix source tree.

If you don't like it, don't use it. Quite frankly I think its rather
pointless to question such a thing, especially given its positive nature
and the very nature of freedom of selection or choice.

Cheers,

James
