OT - history of SPF

2004-10-07 05:15:07
Hi,

According to my research this is how SPF evolved. If anyone has more
information or would like to correct me, please do so. Since this is off
topic it might be better if you answer me directly (jeremyp(_at_)gfi(_dot_)com).

I am not interested in sender-id.

SPF history:

Meng learns about RMX (Hadmut Danisch, April 2003)

Meng then learns about DMP (Gordon Fecyk, sometime after April 2003)

RMX idea was derived from the Repudiating Mail-From paper (of Paul
Vixie)

Vixie's paper was the result of a suggestion by Jim Miller in 1998 (If
anyone has any links to Jim Miller's suggestion I would really
appreciate it)

Meng made SPF out of RMX and DMP in June 2003

Thanks in advance for any additional information to this, or any
corrections.

Jeremy Pullicino
