Why do you continually refer to us in a manner that is not befitting?
You will do precisely as we ask or else we will find someone who whines
a hell of a lot less to do it for us.

How does that sound? It doesn't sound nice does it? No, it does not.
Please desist from your whining and refrain from "telling us how its
going to be". This is not your show as has already been iterated to
you, and should be blatantly obvious anyways. I and everyone else here
definitely appreciates your hard work, but I most certainly do not
appreciate the tone with which many of your remarks are delivered. This
is not 1940, we are not in Germany and you sir are not a nazi, and this
sir, is not a dictatorship.

Now - can I have less beaurocracy and more offers of practical help, please?

This comment was entirely unnecessary and its inflammatory. Best you
set a better example.

I'd like temporary access (3 weeks or so) to servers in USA/Canada with
RH7.3+ patched ( not fedora ) , Apache, PHP 4.3+, Bind with a nameserver
running, any old domain on it with bind records on about 60sec ttl's (or
I'll use a spare one of mine). I'll need access to an included file for
Apaches httpd.conf, and an included folder of files for bind - that way you
can keep me out of root, but I'll need sudo to restart named and httpd. I'm
proposing to split the voters register according to approximate geography
and/or numbers so that folks won't get in a log-jam.

Better that you should prepare a chrooted environment and archive it up
and then those who wish to help you can download it and follow any
necessary instructions. I can commit as many as 10 servers on
multi-tiered gigabit westcoast north american backbone should you be
able to do so.

A uml virtual-server is the easiest way to do this - if anyone has that
technology ( if not it's time you all did ). Anyone able to help - please
buzz me off-list.

Cheers,

James
