You said:

This would be beyond 90% of users.

But I like the idea!

E-mail forwarding is at odds with the centralized nature of the internet.

Why do we even need to bother with concessions for forwarders? Forwarders
can adapt. Forwarders can be whitelisted by the receiver or they can store
instead of forward.

"But, what about all that lost mail due to SPF failures?"

How about a protocol for tagging e-mail. E-mail should never be filtered,
only tagged. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want some
stranger deciding which mail is junk and which is not. A fail or softfail
can result in a subject line tag of [POSSIBLE FORGERY]. When SPF
implementation becomes ubiquitous, rules can become more strict. Even
neutral mail could be tagged. In conjuction with domain blacklisting this
can be a very effective approach. Forwarded mail would not be lost during
adaptation.

Servers will be able to reliably filter mail, but not anytime soon. Let's
stop filtering mail and give the users the power to decide.
