It's a new terminology. Some of the terms are "mediator",
"forwarder", and "redirector". I can't say at the moment
which term is the one thing obsoleted by SPF, it was either
"forwarder" or "redirector".
I highly recommend it as a framework for any discussion of
email protocols.
So what is the term for "change RCPT-TO and send to another
MX of a 3rd party" ? That's what you normally can't do with
SPF protected mail.
