As I understand your situation, you are trying to cram information
about multiple email service providers into one SPF record. Aside
from not having enough room, this also forces every recipient of a
message from you to cope with a needlessly complex record. Why not
create thrid-level names for each of your ESPs (esp1.kitterman.com,
esp2.kitterman.com, etc.) and give each of those just the informa-
tion pertinent to that ESP alone? Each should also have an MX
record which is the same as the existing kitterman.com MX record.

This means you have to do some work each time you switch ESPs for
outgoing mail, but this could be automated. Now your SPF records
are short and easy for the recipient to process without doing a
pile of extraneous lookups. -- George Mitchell

OK. The only problem is that then I need to have mail from and from be
different.

If someone would point my in the right direction on how to set this up with
Mozilla Mail, Thunderbird, and Outlook 2000 with no MTA access, I'd be glad
to do it.
