there is is a plan to call discussions on the draft to a

The discussions will continue - that's the idea of the four
weeks "last call". Some last typos can be fixed in your "48
hours" after it has been approved.
on Monday (I hope), I will submit an updated draft to the
IETF with the request that it be reviewed for Proposed
Standard status.
Carl (the 3865 author) proposed a way to get this "status"
issue right on the xml2rfc list - I didn't bother to Cc: it
to you, because you read that list. Of course the IESG can
pick another status it likes better, and Ted has already
flagged a [Discuss] about it. As long as he finally stops
all attempts to subvert v=spf1 into a part of PRA it's fine.
