Dear community.
Today at 00:00 UTC, the "Official Project Domains" community vote[1] has
left the registration phase and entered the voting phase.
All registered voters should have received a message with their voting key
from the CIVS voting system, explaining how to cast the ballot. If you
have registered but haven't received a message from CIVS, please contact
me directly.
The voting period will last until Thursday, 2005-06-30 00:00 UTC.
The following sets of second-level domain names are available to be chosen
by the project community:
* emailspf, email-spf
* spf-email (.org only)
* mail-spf, mailspf
* spf-mail
* openspf, open-spf
* senderpolicy, sender-policy
* sender-policy-framework (no .com)
* spfclassic, spf-classic
* spfhelp, spf-help
* spf1 (.org only), spf-1
* spfv1, spfv-1
* v-spf1
* espf, e-spf
* mailfrom (.org only), mail-from (no .com)
Based on council resolution #14[2], on the results of the vote, and on the
availability of the winning domains' TLD variants, the SPF Council will
then declare "no less than two, and no more than four domains [...],
comprising no more than two second-level-domain variants and two
top-level-domain variants" to become the official domains for the SPF
Project.
Thanks to John Pinkerton for collecting the domain offers.
Julian,
SPF Council Secretary.
