All good ideas. I have lost track... is there someone out there
organizing the web work? If folks like John and I start writing
material, could someone organize it and stitch it in? What's the
current status of the web site and how can we help?

Status of the website:

We have a dedicated server. The old website has been moved there so we can
make urgent modifications until the new website takes over. The new
website is being worked on by me. An additional webmaster is going to be
delegated at the next council meeting, destined for coming Sunday. The
new domains are going to be declared official at the next meeting, too,
after which we will see to them being transferred to the project's domain
trustee, who is also going to be delegated at the next meeting.

(There is no definite schedule for the following things, we will just have
to work on them as intensely as our time allows.) A preliminary draft for
the structure of the website has been presented by me a while ago
[1/"Contents"], but will have to be refined. The website will be editable
by all council members and the webmaster, who will coordinate community
efforts to flesh out the site. I also plan to have a wiki as a publicly
editable sub-section of the site so as to provide centralized
infrastructure for creating SPF-related content.

Everybody reading this, please feel invited to criticize the proposed
website structure, the "Documentation" part being the most important. We
need a clear idea for this in order to present SPF as concisely and
effectively as possible. A loose collection of an introduction plus some
HOWTOs and a FAQ won't cut it. (I'm going to make a more detailed
proposal for the "Documentation" part myself soon.)
