Everything Wayne said is true.  (However, I had given up on trying to get 
more frequent meetings a while ago already.  And as I said, I think more 
frequent meetings would have kept up the steam.  I am not saying this to 
put blame on anyone -- I am as much to blame as anyone.)

Ok, so maybe there should be more regular meetings, but scheduling is
always a problem.  There is a lot of work that has to go into even a 5
minute meeting.

True as well.  But there's no substitute for trying. ;-)
