Opinions please:

The words "SPF record" can be confusing.

I suggest we adopt the following:

When we say "SPF record", we mean the DNS resource record type SPF.

When we say "SPF information", we mean "v=spf1 ip4:... -all", in either
an SPF record or a TXT record.

I understand it will be difficult to change what we are used to for
so many years, but it has (IMHO) to be done. It is confusing now and
it will become even more confusing once the SPF record gets known more.

What do you think?

Well since I don't refer to '216.138.202.121' as 'A information' and 'mail.pixelpointstudios.com' as 'MX information' I don't see how referring to "v=spf1 ip4:216.138.202.120/29 ip4:216.138.200.230 -all" as 'SPF information' is going to help clarify anything and may, in the future, add to confusion.

As it stand, using the same examples as above, '216.138.202.121' is the A record for 'pixelpointstudios.com,' 'mail.pixelpointstudios.com' is the MX record for 'pixelpointstudios.com' and "v=spf1 ip4:216.138.202.120/29 ip4:216.138.200.230 -all" is the SPF record for 'pixelpointstudios.com.' It's just that, at present, that SPF record is stored in the DNS resource record type TXT.

Once the DNS resource record type SPF becomes commonplace, this whole conversation becomes mute since then we'll be referring to the SPF record and its contents in much the same way as we presently refer to A and MX records and their contents.
