Hi all,
[ As the year before, I'd like to encourage everyone who hasn't registered
for the election yet to do so[1]. Just about two days remain! ]
Before last year's council election, I stated[2] what I considered the most
important goals for the SPF project for 2006. Some of them we managed to
accomplish, however, others unfortunately remained undone.
I accept my nomination for one more year, because I think the project needs
to accomplish a few very essential things _soon_ in order not to lose its
momentum:
Improve availability of SPFv1 software.
Do better on public relations. Do a grassroots "Spread SPF!" campaign
to get in touch with domain owners and ESPs/ISPs.
Create an SPFv3 to support more versatile sender policies with more
authentication methods such as DKIM, PGP, and S/MIME.
Incite research on sender reputation. Perhaps build a prototype repu-
tation database.
Obviously, these goals are slightly less ambitious than my last year's. My
free time will be somewhat more limited this year, and the council isn't
supposed to do everything by itself anyway, so compared to 2006, I will
instead try to solicit more participation from all of YOU! :-)
Julian.
