It sounds like I need to find a good tutorial (or two) on xslfo.

If you keep reading, eventually you're sure to become aware of Ken Holman's comprehensive work, which you can find at www.cranesoftwrights.com (friendly terms for trial and licensing).

E.R. Harold's chapter on XSL-FO in his "XML Bible" is an excellent way of getting your feet wet ... and it's available on line too -- see http://www.ibiblio.org/xml/books/bible2/chapters/ch18.html.

And the O'Reilly book on the subject by our own Dave Pawson (FAQ maintainer) is filled with helpful tips and advice.

Did I miss any important references for trying out FO?

Enjoy,
Wendell
