Please, don't.

There's nothing more frustrating than finding tons of useless and
annoying messages that make it virtually impossible to dig out the
useful ones. I'd certainly stop using Saxon if it behaved like that.


And what of the new user of XSLT Dimitre? Where such information
would be useful?

IMHO you're in the minority on this list due to experience? 
As I said to Mike, a default off option would make sense.
