I'm having the same problem as stated on the following unanswered
quoted mail. fetchmail-5.9.5 hanged on two different servers with
two different mails. Everytime fetchmail stops retrieving mails
with a timeout (Query status=7 (ERROR)). I don't have the first
mail that let fetchmail show this behaviour, but I have the second
one. It's ~ 120kB big, with no text in the body and two attachments
(address.ldif and bookmarks.html, you know what this files are!).
This file isn't sooo big, why does fetchmail hang on it? It starts
retrieving it, and after few seconds it stops until the defaut
timeout from 300 seconds. Increasing this timeout doesn't help.
Any idea?
In the past, behavior like this has normally been the result of
low-level network stalls. You say the retrieval works with 5.20 on an
old system. Have you tried building 5.2.0 from source and running it
over your new kernel?
