instead of using sendmail? I don't think the MDAs would delay your mail

Ah: do you mean configure fetchmail to send its mail *directly* to
procmail, rather than going via sendmail?  So my current configuration is:

POP3 -> fetchmail -> sendmail -> (.forward) -> procmail -> destination
                     ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^****^
and I guess you're suggesting missing this bit out?
    As the mail is only going to the one destination, yes, this should
work nicely.

I've been using procmail with fetchmail for years now and have never had
any trouble.
