Ah. would you be able to say roughly when? (or what the subject line
may have contained?).
Try starting with John Klensin's message "draft-moore-mail-nr-fields-00"
dated August 26 2004. The discussion ran until near the end of the year
under various subject headings.
That distinction is possibly far too subtle though. If there is a
distinction in how Reply-To should be interpreted between 'reply-all'
and 'reply-author' MUA functionality, then for the latter, which of
the From or multiple Reply-To mailboxes should a respondent use?
Would you know the answer, or be able to direct me to it?
Different UAs have different sets of reply options, and ones named
similarly often do different things in different UAs. Right now
I'm using Kmail, which has:
2. Reply To All
3. Reply To Author
4. Reply To Mailing List
along with various "Forward" options. All options allow editing the
set of recipients. Reply To Author is supported by several UAs, and
allows replies to the author(s) -- as listed in the original message's
header From field -- overriding Reply-To.
