Please consider if there exist other general problems that e-postage
attempts to solve and post about it as well as thereafter consider if
there exist other solutions that may solve these problems.
3. To improve delivery rates for legitimate bulk mailers.
4. To make vendors of e-postage systems rich.
Of all the arguments advanced for e-postage, #3 is the only one that
ever made sense, but there are approaches other than per-message
metering that address that problem. Look at Ironport's Bonded Sender,
for example.
