If you already know what lists you're subscribed to, why would you do
anything other than accept all the mail from the lists?

And conversely reject everything from lists you are not subscribed to  
(which will likely include the ones invented or appropriated by the Bad  
Guys).

My MUA detects and displays separately all mailing list message (by the  
presence of List-* headers). If an unfamiliar mailing list shows up (as  
occasionally happens), it sticks out like a sore thumb.
