IIRC, Sendmail defined DISCARD in their Access Database Format, where to
override rejection, assert OK; to permit relaying, assert RELAY; to
always reject the message, assert REJECT; and to discard the message
completely, assert DISCARD.
And the Postfix man page for accesss defines DISCARD as:
Claim successful delivery and silently discard the message. Log the optional
text if specified, otherwise log a generic message.
But the fact that Sendmail or Postfix define it this way does not
necessarily mean that "discard"/"discardable" has the same meaning in
the context of ADSP. If "discardable" needs further definition, it has
to be defined in the context of ADSP in the next revision of the ADSP
document.
Unfortunately, ADSP did not define what
was meant by "discardable". This draft could add clarity with a section
that defines its meaning.
No, not in this BCP draft. It has to be defined in the next revision of
the ADSP document.
