Useless for which purpose?  From the rest of the message it sounds like 
you're primarily thinking about discussion-type mailing lists, which -- while 
a popular topic here recently -- are not the only kind of mail DKIM can be 
applied to.

 is a very good overview of the theory and applicability of message sender 
authentication, though some of the terms may be a couple years out of date.  
I'd suggest starting there.

If mailing lists were put out of business by DKIM/ADSP would anybody even 
notice?
Or care? Mailing lists are from a bygone era, even if we are its fossilized 
remains.

Mike, not that DKIM would be able to do that, of course
