Re: IPR disclosures?

2005-08-01 01:41:18

The IETF IPR disclosure pages for the DKIM Internet-Drafts at [1]
and [2] don't list any disclosures two weeks later (evening of July
31 Paris time); the only content at the mpiassoc.org page that Dave
points to above is a sendmail Open Source license.

Thomas,

I am only aware of Yahoo IPR claims, with respect to DKIM. Yahoo says that
they have a priority internal process going, to get a statement to the IETF.
We have not asked for, and they have not provided, anything that would be
called an "estimated date of publication."

Frankly, the technical development work has been the focus. Miles Libbey,
from Yahoo, will be at the BOF.

I believe it is probably reasonable to ask him to say something about their
IPR or, at least, their IPR declaration activity.

It is probably NOT reasonable to expect him to say much.

It is probably completely UNreasonable for the BOF to discuss the issue.

When Yahoo issues there statement, a discussion about it might be able to have
some substance.
