Perhaps if there was a document that explained how to design an application
so that it worked through a NAT box, the list might not be growing so
quickly?
There actually is a draft titled "NAT Friendly Application Design Guidelines"
< draft-ietf-nat-app-guide-02.txt> attempting to do just that. I do believe,
this can be very valuable to future application developers that need to
deploy their apps in networks with NAT devices.
Thanks for bringing this up. If someone has valuable input on this, please
send the same to the draft author. Thanks.
