Folks,
In the early '70s, an ARPA database research company, called Computer
Corporation of America (CCA) had a service that allowed you to make a telnet
connection to a special port.
It would spit out a randomly-selected limerick and then close the
connection.
Almost all the limericks were filthy enough to surprise hardened limerick
afficionados.
